Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose – the more things change, the more they stay the same.
This axiom was challenged by some wonderful info and images relating to the Broadbent Quest that I’ll be posting soon, and reinforced by the minor delay below.
The Delay
My internet went down for about 24 hours, so I decided it would be a good time (as in ‘there’s nothing else to do’) for some sorting of computer files, ensuring back-ups etc.
Having made reasonable inroads into file mazes that would leave Hampton Gardens looking like kindergarten maths, I then reckoned I shouldn’t waste all that effort.
So off to upgrade my faithful iMac from the getting-dated-but-wonderfully-secure Snow Leopard operating system to the latest in Apple tech – Yosemite.
The first step is to read some online comments. They ranged from ecstatic to kill-the-designers – about normal for any change, whether it be in computers or horse trainers or church leadership.
The download took forever, but the install went quite quickly, and I am now making the adjustments and discovering what other app updates are necessary – it’s like a row of dominoes: you start with one & have to keep going.
