Half the fun I have with websites & blogging is in the design. It’s one form of building – which is why you see that image.
To play with images and colours, to experiment and adjust, to seek the ideal for that moment – all is creative, all is exciting.
Over the years I’ve moved from completely designing my own sites to enjoying the ease of templates. These provide a basic setup which is still malleable.
The design template I originally tried out for this particular website was new to me, and I enjoyed seeing some new ideas and learning a bit more about css.
BUT – and it’s a big but – I had no joy in trying to contact the original theme designers. At the beginning, with only a few posts and pages up this is OK, but it can signal problems further down the road.
So I made the change, and I’m happy with the new theme. This is one from the Catch collection. I’ve used a Catch theme previously, and I like their stability, plus which the follow up and support are good.
Now comes customising, which means finding my way round the css.
Don’t you just love design!!
